8th Grade

My Eighth Grade Experience

8th grade was one of the worst years of my life; I lost many friends and felt like I had to start over. However, I made a couple of new friends that are worth more than gold to me. As an eighth grade AdVenture student, I survived the year by always trying to make new friends and by viewing everything from multiple perspectives. Luckily this helped me through many problems and has even help with my projects and learning experiences!

If I could go back and start eighth grade again, I would try to view everything and everyone with different perspectives. I learned that this would help me work with others better. This would also come into play when I am assigned a group project and have to communicate and compromise with my team. Hopefully, as I continue to grow and mature, I will remember to try to always have an open mind.

The easiest part of eighth grade was getting good grades. This goal of mine was fairly easy. All I had to do was listen carefully, understand, and do all of my work--with my best effort! But earning a 4.0 GPA was difficult at times and also stressed me out. Then I had to start doing re-grades and ask my teachers what I could do to earn a higher grade. After that, it was a pretty easy thing to accomplish.

One of the most difficult things that I had to do was maintain balance between work and play. During most of the school day, I consider myself to be pretty focused when it comes to learning and paying attention. But sometimes I find myself acting the complete opposite! Although when I get home, it’s a whole different story. Once I get home from school, I usually eat a snack and then jump onto homework right after! This was a pretty challenging thing to do, well, at least for me. I would much rather like to watch TV or play on my phone than do homework. So I admit sometimes I got lazy and saved my work for really late at night (WHICH SUCKS, BUT I WOULD STILL DO IT AGAIN). By now, I have really learned how to balance my time between school.

My eighth grade experience wasn’t at all what I expected. There were many ups and downs, but we all managed to pull through. Let’s just say that I’m pretty excited to move on to high school, make some new friends, and start over!
