Forgiveness

Forgiveness

A way we shed our sins of hate

Because we are fearless

In ways that are great

Although you may have struck me

For those actions won't be forgotten

I decided not to flee

Because my hearts not rotten

I understand

Your country's views

From a land

That abuse

During a dark time

Light was not shown

It was filled with grime

I was not alone

You held your whip

Showed no mercy

Let me trip

I chose forgiveness

To relieve your duties

We yet to have unfinished Business

This is not a movie

This path was chosen

So that we are allowed to heal

Our past is not frozen

We no longer have to conceal

God has given us the chance

To relieve our pain

Let's take a dance

And let this drain__

But the memories won’t erase

Now they begin to fade

We are now in a better place

Our battle is outweighed

God help us all

Forgive our daring sins

We don’t want to apoll

There was no controversy

On the other hand

I set mine down

For my stand

I turned around

In language arts this year we did many interesting projects. Although, I feel as if the one project that presented my best work was the Unbroken project. This project consisted of designing or making a project of your choice on the novel Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. For this assignment I decided to write a poem about forgiveness. This topic was finally chosen when I learned that Louie Zamperini  (the main character) goes to Japan to forgive his captors from World War  II.

expository writing

During my eighth grade year, we wrote lots of essays about different novels we read throughout the year. My favorite essay that I wrote was the To Kill A Mocking Bird. This was my favorite because I believe that it was the best essay that I have written! I also recently revised this essay once more. During this final revision, I corrected run-on sentences and punctuation. My strongest paragraph was the introduction, due to it taking the most time and thinking. My body paragraphs include at least one cited quote from the novel; to support my thesis and main points.
